PULSe webinar on Brillouin Distributed Sensing

PULSe H2020 Project webinar on Brillouin Distributed Sensing took place last week on Sept 26 and reviewed all aspects of distributed sensing, i.e. requirements and challenges in design of sensing cable, interrogator as well as special demands for equipment installation and data processing software.

Filippo Bastianini, President and CEO at SestoSensor spoke on ‘Brillouin distributed fiber optic sensing: an integration approach of sensor cable, interrogator and data processing’. Gabriele Bolognini, PULSe Project Coordinator, talked about ‘Distributed Brillouin sensing: fundamentals and applications’ and Isabelle P., R&D Manager for Data Analysis & Interpretation at Ziebel, spoke on ‘Distributed Fibre Optic Sensing in Oil & Gas – Applications in unconventional producers’. The webinar was moderated by Elena Beletkaia, Project Leader at EPIC – EUROPEAN PHOTONICS INDUSTRY CONSORTIUM.

The webinar is now available on demand. You can view it here: https://lnkd.in/dsmGddx

PULSe EPIC Meeting on Structural Monitoring at Smart City Expo

Dates: 21 November 2019

Venue: Smart City Expo, Barcelona, Spain

PULSE will be sponsoring the EPIC Meeting on Structural Monitoring at Smart City Expo in Barcelona. The meeting will focus on the technologies providing information about expected and unexpected changes relevant for infrastructure management and structural health monitoring, therefore assisting in improving the environmental footprints. The meeting is dedicated to the increasing demand for knowledge about the structural health of the infrastructure assets such as, e.g. tunnels and bridges in order to increase safety demands and arrive from fixed time service interventions to a model of service based on their actual needs. Technologies for temperature monitoring of power lines and generators that provide information on their structural health based on the thermal profile will be discussed as well.
