PULSe EPIC Meeting on Structural Monitoring at Smart City Expo

Dates: 21 November 2019

Venue: Smart City Expo, Barcelona, Spain

PULSE will be sponsoring the EPIC Meeting on Structural Monitoring at Smart City Expo in Barcelona. The meeting will focus on the technologies providing information about expected and unexpected changes relevant for infrastructure management and structural health monitoring, therefore assisting in improving the environmental footprints. The meeting is dedicated to the increasing demand for knowledge about the structural health of the infrastructure assets such as, e.g. tunnels and bridges in order to increase safety demands and arrive from fixed time service interventions to a model of service based on their actual needs. Technologies for temperature monitoring of power lines and generators that provide information on their structural health based on the thermal profile will be discussed as well.

PULSe at EPIC Meeting on Next Generation Distributed Sensing for the O&G industry at ADIPEC

Dates: 12 November 2019

Venue: ADIPEC, Abu Dhabi, UAE

PULSE will be sponsoring the EPIC Meeting on Next Generation Distributed Sensing for the O&G industry at ADIPEC in Abu Dhai. This meeting will focus on the increasing needs from the Oil & Gas industry in accurate well temperature monitoring and generation of the detailed imagery of the physical parameters of well bore. The requirements for the sensors providing these parameters to assist the control of the costs by optimizing the economic and operational performance in the real time will be discussed. The advantages and limitations of the state-of-the-art distributed sensing techniques such as Brillouin-based Distributed Temperature and/or Strain Sensing (DTSS), Raman Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS), Distributed Acoustic/Vibration Sensing (DAS/DVS), Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG), etc. will be reviewed alongside with the developments in these technologies making the sensors more reliable and suitable for the critical processes monitoring.

PULSE Webinar on Brillouin distributed sensing

Date: 26 September 2019

Time: 15:00 hours CEST

The Webinar sponsored by PULSe on Brillouin distributed sensing will review all aspects of distributed sensing, i.e. requirements and challenges in design of sensing cable, interrogator as well as special demands for equipment installation and data processing software. The advantages of employment of Brillouin distributed sensing for various applications such as structural health monitoring, smart grid, soil management, mining, etc., with a special attention to Oil & Gas industry will also be discussed.
